Space Exploration

This was my Final year project at university.

The task for this was to create a project and produce a substantial piece of work related to the course and be guided by a member of staff throughout.

For this project I decided to focus on UI as I knew this was what I wanted to in the future. I decided to use inspiration from super Mario and create a retro looking themed UI and gameplay level.

I firstly looked at colour pallets using Adobe Colour.

This project I feel has been my strongest piece of work and it shows how much my skills have developed since the start of university. It shows that my eye for UI design really improved and I knew what theme I wanted to go for.

This project was enjoyable and fun to create.

I then looked at buttons and fonts to use.

I wanted to go with a pixel looking button and font so this would give off the retro theme.

I was able to use photoshop so I could edit the buttons to the way I wanted them to look.

Assets

I used a variety of assets for this project, I was able to use photoshop to edit them to the way I needed them to be.

I used helmets as the main collectives in the level.

The main objective of the game was to kill the enemies and finish the level, the enemies and health tank needed to be created into a flipbook which I was able to do in Unreal Engine.

I used a timer in my level so the player could see how long it took them to complete the level.

I also had hearts so the player was able to see how many lives they had left.

This wireframe showed each menu and what button would lead to what page.

It showed how the menus would flow and where each one would appear.
